Available on Steamand mobile and coming to the Switch tomorrow and PS4 next week, Cat Quest is a charming little action role-playing game. Quest to save your catnapped sister from an evil overlord, or just wander the world killing monsters, casting spells and gathering loot. Either way, it’s a lot of fun.

Along with the usual assortment of games, this week’s Nintendo Download includes the Switch’s first entertainment app, Hulu, which should be available later today. Can Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, Crunchyroll, Crackle, that comedy one and some sort of sports thing be far behind?

ReviewsHardwareGame SystemsXbox One X: The Kotaku Review
The Xbox One X is a box filled with powerful components that’s designed to do the same thing as a box with less powerful components, only a little bit better. That’s a weird place for the “world’s most powerful console” to be. In an simpler time, the Xbox One X might have been Microsoft’s next-generation…

The Biggest Transformers Battle In Titans Return Next Week
The partnership between Hasbro and Machinima that gave us last year’s Transformers: Combiner Wars series bears new fruit next week, when Titans Returns brings some of the largest disguised robots in the toy box out to play. Debuting on November 14 in the U.S on Verizon’s go90 network (and Tumblr nearly everywhere else), Titans Return…

Ronda Rousey’s Xbox One X Spot On Conan Is Painful To Watch
FormerMMA champion and all-around gamer Ronda Rousey appeared on Conan O’Brien last night to “demonstrate exactly what it feels like to experience true 4K gaming on the Xbox One X.” The two-minute segment, with promotional consideration paid by Microsoft (i.e. it’s a paid ad), is awkward and embarrassing. Conan brings Ronda and friend up on…

The Xbox One X’s Hard Drive Can Fill Up Pretty Fast
Games optimized for the Xbox One X can look better on the new console than they do on older hardware, but adding HDR support, 4K textures and other enhancements takes a bit more space. With three games taking up over a third of my console’s drive, 1TB of storage isn’t gonna cut it. I’ve spent…

Super Lucky’s Tale is a delightful take on Nintendo 64-era 3D platformers. The titular fox hero wanders through a mix of free-roaming 3D and 2D platforming levels, searching for coins, letters and other collectibles in a very pretty game with responsive controls. It could use a bit more personality, but otherwise it’s lovely.

The Xbox One X Is Great So Far, But Waiting For Game Updates Is The Worst
After spending a week with the Xbox One X, Microsoft’s “world’s most powerful console,” I know three things for certain. It’s definitely an Xbox One, it makes enhanced games look lovely, and waiting for Xbox One X enhancement updates sucks. The $500 Xbox One X is a ridiculously powerful console, but in order to actively…

Call of Duty WWII Players Can Watch Each Other Open Loot Boxes
In a time when the existence of loot boxes containing random prizes is a sore subject among gamers, Activision makes it rain, baby. Call of Duty: World War II turns unboxing random items into a spectator sport. Call of Duty’s communal multiplayer hub is where players can form parties, practice shooting, watch videos, accept missions…

Final Fantasy Dimensions II Is Nothing Like The First
The first Final Fantasy Dimensions was a delightful old-school adventure reminiscent of the earliest entries in the storied series. Final Fantasy Dimensions II is an incredibly basic free-to-play mobile game that’s been stripped of its microtransactions and granted a premium price tag. The latest mobile RPG from Square Enix, released this week on Google Play…

Nintendo’s Giving Us New Style Savvy For Christmas
Technically, Nintendo is giving us the opportunity to purchase Style Savvy: Styling Stars on the 3DS on December 25 and not just giving it to us, but it’s a joyous gift nonetheless. Style Savvy: Styling Stars is the latest game in Nintendo’s secret best series ever. I am completely serious here. I really enjoy shopping…

The New Steven Universe RPG Has Those Paper Mario Feels
In 2015, mobile developer Grumpyface Studios released Steven Universe: Attack the Light, a wonderful turn-based role-playing game that channels Paper Mario. For its console debut, Steven Universe: Save the Light, the studio delves even deeper into Nintendo territory. Picking up where the mobile game left off (though you don’t have to have played the first…
