A Closer Look at Batman v. Superman‘s Big Three Superhero Costumes

Here’s a better glimpse at the costumes that DC Comics’ biggest three superheroes will be wearing in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Batman’s new suit takes big cues from the Frank Miller iteration from The Dark Knight Returns and Wonder Woman’s gear looks a bit more colorful than the promo shots released thus far.…

Here’s the Official Batman v. Superman Teaser Trailer

Let’s forget about that crappy leaked version, okay? Less than a day after a shaky, barely-focused cam-vid of the next big DC superhero movie leaked everywhere, Warner Bros. has put out the real thing for everyone to see, three days ahead of its originally scheduled release on Monday. In it, you can see Superman’s presence…

A Comic Where Batman Meets His Dead Father Should Not Be This Bad

A Bruce Wayne Batman meets an alternate-reality Batman who’s really his father Thomas Wayne. So much ripe potential in having these different Dark Knights meet up, right? Too bad the comic it happens in, Convergence #2, is terrible. DC Comics’ Convergence crossover event continues this week with another crop of comics engineered to revisit past…

The Coolest Cosplay from Star Wars Celebration 2015

“It’s time to put on makeup/It’s time to dress up right/It’s time to raise the curtain on the Empire Show tonight!” Unless you’ve been trapped in a Death Star garbage compactor all week, you probably know that Star Wars Celebration is happening right now. And, of course, the fanfest for folks who love the Force…

Looks Like This Will Be The Darkest Justice League Cartoon Ever

Superman is General Zod’s son. Wonder Woman’s the daughter of Ares, evil god of war. And Batman? He’s an actual vampire. Things are going to be different in the next animated Justice League movie. Justice League: Gods and Monsters won’t be like the other recent animated film projects from Warner Brothers. This one won’t be…

What We Loved (And Didn’t Love) About the Daredevil TV Show

I’ve been waiting for a show about Marvel’s blind lawyer superhero lawyer for, like, 20 years. So, of course, I binged on the new Daredevil show on Netflix as soon as I could. I wasn’t the only one here at Kotaku who felt that way. You know what? We loved it. Daredevil’s a different beast…

One of Mortal Kombat’s New Characters is Gay

A bunch of new characters are ripping each other’s body parts out in Mortal Kombat X. That’s nothing new in the decades-old fighting series. But, a gay character? That is definitely new. Kung Jin—a one of the new Shaolin Monks fighting for Earthrealm—appears to be the first gay male character in Mortal Kombat. The revelation…

Archie Is Comics’ Ballsiest Publisher Right Now

This week, there’s a comic where a Predator from the movies of the same name stalks Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead. A newly dead body drips blood all over America’s favorite lily-white teenagers as the alien hunter observes them from a tree branch above. Of course, they never look up. So freakin’ great. Archie comic…

The New Mortal Kombat Is Fun, Y’all

I’ve been playing Mortal Kombat X since late last night and I don’t want to stop. Honestly, I’m a little annoyed that I have to stop playing NetherRealm’s newest installment of the long-lived martial-arts series to actually write about it. Whether it’s been in the snarkily self-aware Story Mode or playing against another human online,…

Almost All of Mortal Kombat X‘s Gory Fatalities in One Place

You want to see, like, 95% of the blood-gushing finishing moves from Mortal Kombat X? Here you go. YouTuber theRadBradhas uploaded a video that features almost all of MKX’s Fatalities, with the exception, he says, of the ones performed by unlockable character Shinnok. Players get him at the end of Story Mode. (It’s not clear…

GTA V PC Will Let You Make Your Own Films

Need another reason to get the PC version of GTA V, which you probably already own on console? The robust video editor coming with it might be reason enough. The trimming and sharing features shown in the new trailer for GTA V’s PC version look commensurate with the features in a lot of other video…

New Ant-Man Trailer Makes Marvel’s Shrinking Hero Look Like a Badass

The first teaser for Marvel’s next solo superhero movie was a bit gloomier, focusing on Scott Lang’s messed-up life. Today’s new trailer brings the straight-up superhero stuff, making you believe that this guy will be able to kick bad guys’ butts. You’ll get a bunch of scenes of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man facing up against Yellowjacket,…

12 Must-Read Daredevil Stories

With a new Netflix TV series on the way, now’s a good time to learn about blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his long, twisted superhero career as Daredevil. Good news. This Marvel hero has starred in some incredible (and easily-obtainable) comics. First, some back-story. He is nicknamed the Man Without Fear. As a child growing…

How an RPG Works on the Apple Watch

There will be games for the Apple Watch. Of course. One of them—a role-playing game called Runeblade—will have battles that last anywhere from five to 15 seconds. You’re probably going to look pretty silly playing it. The trailer for the first Apple Watch RPG doesn’t offer up any details about how to actually play it.…

DC Comics Is Giving Old Fans What They Want in the Weirdest Way

Superman back in his classic “red underwear” outfit. Barbara Gordon back in her Oracle identity and in a romance with Nightwing. Both Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain back as Batgirl (sort of). Yep, DC Comics is using their latest crossover to give fans what they’ve been asking for. The most recent, “New 52” iteration of…

Take a Look at Daredevil’s Red Costume from Tomorrow’s Netflix Show

Matt Murdock’s latest on-screen adaptation will feature Daredevil’s most iconic costume. Last night, it looked like fans might have accidentally gotten a glimpse of what Daredevil’s red superhero costume will look like in the upcoming Netflix show. A report by ScreenCrush dug up the image below. Now here’s the official teaser, via Twitter: So, it…

Lego Dimensions Announced, Uses Actual Lego Toys

A new Lego collectible-toy game combining characters and worlds from DC Comics, Lords of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz and Back to The Future will coming this fall. You might need to free up some space. The Lego Dimensions reveal is the culmination of a teaser campaign from earlier this week, which had images…

Some BioShock Music Sounds A Lot Like Parts of Classic Sci-Fi Movie 2001

Most people played through the first BioShock and probably didn’t hear anything familiar while ending their way through Rapture. But one reader’s sharp ears caught a sequence that sounds remarkably like one from the soundtrack of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Would you kindly listen and see what you think? Reader Sam thought he heard echoes…

Nintendo’s going to be publishing a Yokai Watch title—based off the extremely popular Japanese anime/game series—for the 3DS in the U.S. Developed by Professor Layton creators Level-5, the latest game in the series is pretty good
