As someone who consumed all of the games AND the books and the few attempts to give us a “live” series or story (and like most of it for what it was) I can say I was at first disappointed that the series decided to ignore most of that and go their own way. Read more

I feel like Phantasy Star Online 2 deserves special mention, because it offers something a lot of other character creators don’t: range.

It depends on the difficulty, honestly.  Hiding some tactical information from the player adds a level of uncertainty that can make each turn a bit more suspenseful:  that is, as long as the game isn’t punishingly difficult.  Sometimes those fights are tuned so murderously difficult, that you need every little bit of Read more

If you have the madness eye beam (I forgot it’s name), you can two-shot this boss, so it makes for extremely fast co-op fights. I’ve gotten anywhere from 35k-90k runes per fight and each fight takes less Read more

Trans people have been warning of this for a while now but the “love wins” crowd has been too busy enjoying a false proximity to privilege to listen. This is what happens when we forget "you come for one of us you come for all of us".  Read more
