I kind of wish this game had a trigger warning before I leapt into it. I’m currently working my way very slowly through Act 3 because the text has gotten Very Intense. On the one hand, I do really love that something that’s a real part of my life and mind is so accurately represented in a beautiful piece of art. On Read more

Acti-Blizz made $5.75 BILLION in 2020 off microtransactions, dlc, services, etc. None of that includes actual game sales. Their total 2020 revenue was $8.09 Billion.

That $18 Million in hush money they paid is precisely 0.31% of $5.75 Billion, and 0.22% of their entire 2020 revenue.

Folks there is something really wrong with me... I backed the ArduBoy back in the day and I backed the PocketSprite however long ago that was and I just backed this one too. There is something about the miniaturization of this stuff that just speaks to me at such a base level that I can’t help but throw cash at Read more

My eyes, ruined by years of exposure to virtual boy and monochrome Gameboy screens look at this and simply say no. I’m wearing progressives as we speak, cementing my age range as a withering Gen X’er. I squint enough with my 6.3" Note from Samsung, so this... this just isn’t going to happen. It’s a wonder how the developers got licenses for some of the game’s two dozen or so vehicles Read more

Racing games, both arcade and sim are probably my favorite and most played games. Cruisin’ Blast is pretty damn fun but it does have some issues. The biggest issue is the rubberbanding. This is to be expected in an arcade racer but it is a little extreme. Makes sense when it is an arcade machine trying to take as many Read more

my first thought looking at the gif of the yeti was “oh shit this is like beetle adventure racing!”

The game is firing off themes and ideas with wild abandon which I would respect if it felt like...intentional. There is a way to make a cool game about how you make meaning by just throwing 10,000 ideas at the audience or whatever, but this ain’t it! Read more

Yeah!! Especially with some of the weird concepts it plays with - robots, time travel and the end of the world - had me constantly trying to find foreshadowing or meaning where there apparently just...wasn’t? Like robot Daniel says he wants to be a real boy, and that apparently doesn’t have anything to do with what Read more

Yeah! I think the narrative really tries to play with a lot of plot and character beats it thinks are cool, but never takes the time to dig into them. It leaves so much on the table, which is a bummer because I think the ideas its playing with could’ve been really cool! Read more

I think it depends on context. As a lot of culture/slang/memes in the LGBTQ community use phrases like that.

It doesn’t help that a lot of the derogatory language used against gay people, is silly and ridiculous by default. So it makes sense why so much of it has been reclaimed and made ironic. Read more
