An Xbox? Well, that 2005 Crystal 1.6 isn’t the best for vid quality or hax utility, so most likely that’ll go to eBay once fixed. But I do want a long-term OG Xbox to actually play since I’ve played that console very little (always detested the bulk) and it is not well served by BC or emulation. Read more

It probably helped that you couldn’t do anything with the ripped tracks except add them to playlists that you could listen to while playing Xbox games. Still, that turned out to be a killer feature for a lot of Xbox players, and was a good way for Microsoft to flex over being the only console with a hard drive. Read more

The bumpiness of the horse rides strikes me as a worrisome element for VR. I’m curious how an RDR game designed to be more VR-friendly might handle the inclusion of realistic horseback-riding. Would it include less of these involuntary head movements, maybe? But too-smooth camera movement would feel artificial... Read more

Pray that it’s still living! Mine died a lonely death in its retail box at some point over the last year. It had 3 swollen capacitors. (None were the infamous clock cap, though; this is a v1.6 Xbox which are said to have safer clock caps.) Should be easy enough to fix, eventually. Read more
