Today, during Summer Game Fest, developers Creative Assembly and publisher Sega gave us our first good look at Alien: Isolation 2 and confirmed that the upcoming horror sequel will be arriving to scare you sometime in the future.
The devs didn’t share a release date, but said they were excited to show more of what happens when a Xenomorph wreaks havoc on an isolated colony on an isolated planet.
In 2024, to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the original Alien: Isolation, Creative Assembly announced that it had started development on a highly demanded sequel. The studio then went radio-silent, which makes sense as they had a game to make. However, earlier this year, Sega released a small teaser for Alien: Isolation 2, reassuring fans that the game wasn’t dead and suggesting that maybe news was coming soon. And now here we are.
The original Alien: Isolation, released back in 2014, was an incredible horror game that forced players to sneak around a space station, avoiding killer androids, mercs, and, of course, a super-deadly Xenomorph that was always hunting you. I loved the original game, even if it made me nearly break my controller when I dropped it from fear one night. I’m excited to play Alien: Isolation 2 when it arrives… one day on PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC. I’ll make sure to hold onto my controller more tightly this time.
