A month ago we guessed that YouTube’s top 10 “trending” games for June would include Fallout 4 and some new Metroid announced for E3. Well, we got half of that right. As for rearliy, well, surprise: there are two Lego games on the June list!
Remember, this list is not strictly a list of the games that got the most uploads. YouTube determines “trending” status through a combination of number of video uploads and watchtime. Here’s what they’ve sent us for June:
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Lego Jurassic World
- Fallout 4
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- Lego Worlds
- The Elder Scrolls Online
- Skylanders: SuperChargers
- Star Wars Battlefront
- Final Fantasy VII
- Heroes of the Storm
There are a few surprises on there, huh?
Arkham Knight makes sense in the number one slot. It was a major new release, and with that status come lots of Let’s Plays and tips videos. Lego Jurassic World was also a new release, and while it seems weird to see it rank that high, it surely benefitted from being tied to the red-hot new movie (and getting a 1.6-million-view video like this doesn’t hurt, either).
Fallout 4 is the highest-ranking game from E3, though Battlefront, Skylanders and Final Fantasy VII poked their way into the list thanks to the big show, too.
Anyone want to guess which games will make YouTube’s chart for July? We’ll be back with the results in a month.
