The End Of April Is Absolutely Stacked On Xbox Game Pass

New games from Double Fine, Don't Nod and Poncle make this a stellar month for the subscription service

It feels like Microsoft left it a bit late to reveal the second half of April’s Game Pass releases, given that there’s only a third of the month left, but it seems the final week and a half is absolutely stacked with new additions, and many of them are day-one releases. The highlight is April 21’s Vampire Crawlers, which is going to blow your socks off, but it’s just one among many new and classic titles, including the latest from Lost Records‘ creator Don’t Nod, and a multiplayer pottery-based brawler by Double Fine.

Joining poncle’s Vampire Survivors follow-up on the 21st are the machine-building RPG Little Rocket Lab and the exquisitely named Sopa: Tale of the Stolen Potato, a narrative adventure set in a South American pantry, both originally released on PC on Oct 7, 2025.

Come the 23rd we get another day-one release with Kiln, the latest game from Pyschonauts team Double Fine. This one’s an online multiplayer brawler about sentient ceramics, where your skills in combat are based on the kind of pot you craft on a pottery wheel. Which sounds appropriately bonkers.

There’s then a five-day hiatus until another brand new game, Aphelion. This is the newest game from Don’t Nod, the folks originally behind Life Is Strange and more recently responsible for hits Jusant and Lost Records, this time offering us a hardcore science-fiction adventure which it says fuses exploration and stealth to the studio’s usual storytelling.

The next day, on April 29, we also get 2023’s extremely popular F.E.A.R.-style shooter Trepang2, and then the 30th sees the arrival on PC of a preview version of Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, the hopefully triumphant return of the long-abandoned turn-based strategy series that began in 1995. We last saw a HOMM in 2015 with the lackluster seventh entry, so here’s hoping new developers Unfrozen can restore the old glory as it returns to the stories from the first three games.

There’s yet another day-one addition on April 30 called Sledding Game, which is an adorable-looking multiplayer game about sledding frogs with wild physics. The same day also brings us TerraTech Legion, the latest entry in Payload Studio’s TerraTech universe, this time a bullet-hell vehicle-building game—quite the departure from the franchise’s usual open-world sandbox adventures.

Last of all, yet another Final Fantasy joins Game Pass on May 5, this time Final Fantasy V.

Here are all the games in a tidy list, along with the nine games vanishing on the last day of the month as well. (Play Revenge of the Savage Planet before then!)
