The beta allows players to play as one of four different factions in four different game types across three different maps. I'm pretty sure it's been running since Friday. I didn't get it until yesterday, but I've got friends who were playing all weekend.
Anyway, impressions? Ehh. It's not really a bad game, but I think that's just because it essentially IS CoD4. It plays exactly the same, just with different models and skins, and some negligible differences in player abilities (Recon Plane instead of UAV, Attack Dogs instead of Air Strike, etc.).
I have no intention of buying the game. The game just feels like Treyarch phoned it in.
"Modern Warfare? That would require us to write our own story...so WW2 it is. Our own engine and gameplay? Nah, let's just take everything from CoD4 and slap some WW2 skins on it."
