An employee at a Foxconn affiliate has fallen to his death at a company dormitory building, reports the Xinhua news agency.
Foxconn manufactures electronics like the Wii, the PS3, the Xbox 360 and the iPhone. Its Shenzhen plant has suffered ten suicides this year, causing the company to ditch its suicide compensation and look into relocation.
This latest loss was at a dormitory of a Foxconn-controlled affiliate. The deceased was an 18-year-old summer intern who had only joined the company last month. It is not yet known whether the death was an accident or suicide.
Foxconn is planning to open more factories in China's interior, where wages are lower. To offset the costs of the move, however, the company will charge its clients higher prices.
