With its servers, Steam page and website down (and having had trouble paying staff before firing most of them), it looks like this is the end for ambitious online shooter Firefall.

Alas poor Firefall. However this is what can occur when you change your development goals mid-stream. Originally Firefall was billed as a co-operative/competitive PvE game with some PvP ‘for kicks’. However as development progressed further along, the focus of the game moved increasingly towards competitive PvP & attempts to make it more of an e-sport game.

I shall remember the good times. Defending the thumper, and blasting all of the Chosen who kept dropping right there on the beach by the bungalos.
