The Witcher 3 Remastered has only been out for a couple of days and already received multiple fixes, with CD Projekt Red promising to address an issue with the game’s bloom lighting setting in the near future.

The first hotfix arrived earlier today to deal with a bug that was preventing DLSS from being accessible with the Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game on PC, as well as an adjustment to make interiors less dark and tweak lighting overall and “ensure parity with the PC version” for console versions.

The second hotfix arrived just a few hours later, specifically to address a few of the problems on PC. The patch was roughly 5GB and dealt with a number of bugs, including a voiceover issue and save file error. Hooray!

Finally, community director Marcin Momot confirmed that new hotfixes are already in the pipeline, including one to deal with the the game’s bloom setting, which players have been universally turning off to make the new version of the game look less washed out. A fix for a sound issue on consoles is also in the works, though for now it might be harder to hear Geralt talking than it should be.

“We’re hoping to have the changes ready for the next update but no details yet,” Momot wrote on X. “We’ll share more as soon as we can.” The comments sections, as you might expect, are full of people complaining about a range of other problems, most of them minor, but still annoying nonetheless.

One of the most divisive things about the remaster has been its overhauled graphics, which include new path tracing. It’s unclear how much of this is a problem of differing tastes when it comes to visual detail and heavy color contrasts, and how much of it has to do with the current implementations of various tech features being borked.
