Tuesday. You know, every day of the week has its own profile and purpose, it seems. Mondays are for football, quarterbacking, and complaining about work; Wednesday is humpday; Thursday is Must-See TV; Friday, Saturday and Sunday need no explanation. But Tuesday, only recently, has come into its own. Oh, it's always been the day when the U.S. votes and the world holds its breath. But now that all that's over, it's the day for your AAA video game drops. And this week's headliner is the super-douche helmed Call of Duty: World at War on five platforms. Other heavies on the featured release day: Mirror's Edge (PS3, 360), Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the 360, and Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 for the 360. Wednesday, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King arrives, heralding an epidemic of sunlight/vitamin D deficiency through at least February. Saturday PS3 and 360 gamers get Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. The count: 21 for the DS, 25 for the Wii, 7 for the PS2, 6 for the PS3, 3 for the PSP, 9 for the 360, 13 for the PC and Mac. CoD5 will be $39 on Black Friday if it's anything like the last 2 games, so I'll wait 'til then for that. Nuts & Bolts was one of the worst demos I've ever played, so definitely not interested. Looks like Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3 will remain in heavy rotation 'til next Tuesday, at the very least.
