Just when you thought the holidays were ending, along comes an entire week of super-speedy runs through your favorite games for an excellent cause. It’s time for Awesome Games Done Quick. Let’s watch together!

Along with its summer variant, the Awesome Games Done Quick marathon has quickly become one of my favorite gaming events of the year. It’s all the joy of playing games and watching others play focused and applied towards a real-world problem.

This year’s event is raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. If previous Games Done Quick events are any indication, that worthy cause will have around a million dollars more to do its thing once the smoke clears on Sunday morning. We’re just approaching $800,000 as this post goes live, but last-day rallies are a definite possibility.

That’s right, it’s the final day of the annual parade of outstanding speedruns, and we’ve seen some real gems so far, from the outstanding one-handed Transformers: Devastation run to a Stepmania performance that’s exhausting to watch.

I was originally going to toss up this reminder at 11 AM, but Spyro the Dragon is scheduled to start at 10:30, and I don’t want you guys to miss it. Other than that, the final day features Mario Kart 8 at 200cc, which Twitch should handle well, along with a series or robot vs. human matches, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and the grand finale, Final Fantasy IV.
