It's that time of year again, here in the United States: the presidential election, and the seemingly interminable campaign for it, are everywhere. Of course, even though the election isn't until November, when you look back to the primary season, the campaign began well into last year. And Slate has taken to a video game parody to remind us all of it.

In Political Kombat '12, candidates' attacks on each other take on a literal cast, as words become weapons and "Finish Him!" becomes their mandate. The series, like the electoral process, has many episodes. The first, posted today, takes a look at how the Republican primary season played out, with Mitt Romney taking on the tag-team of Rick Santorum and Herman Cain. Slate plans to add more to the series: "In Episode 2, Romney does battle with Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul. Episode 3 imagines a fight between President Obama and Donald Trump. And in the coming weeks, we'll stage a fight between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan as a prelude to a battle royale between Romney and Obama."

As for how this game finally ends? We'll finally get the end of it in a little over a month; Election Day is November 6.
