Reader Des was kind enough to upload and send along these old videos of Dotcom on a trip to Hong Kong, where he and a friend walk around embarrassing the human race.

I'm really annoyed by this one picture. Two wrongs as hell don't make a right. This guy is a known criminal for insider trading (though I'm not sure if he was arrested for it) and protecting copyrighted material from being taken down. Yeah, yeah, corporations have too much money, I'm not a big fan myself, but copyright is inherent good. Any such justifications like "they have too much money" is meaningless. Any breaking the law in protest should be thought out and organized but this is just people not paying money. Anyway, you can't just make his crimes go away by saying what someone else did was worse.

If people are so bloodthirsty for the rapist, I would ask "Would you like to give him more years? Do you have the right to judge? I don't, because I don't know if he is crazy, or if he is actually scum of the earth." Maybe if I research, I could make such a call. Overall, you can't really compare the two.

A few months ago, a similar image was going around comparing an African-American homeless man and a ponzi scheme asshole and their sentances. The homeless man stole a 100 dollar bill which he gave back because he felt bad and got some ridiculous sentence while the asshole got 3 years for stealing millions. Those are no doubt two injustices while this comparison could potentially be classified as one sentencing being too lenient and the other being too harsh (I definitely don't think it was harsh).
