You might remember that last year, my on-the-record Christmas wish was a conference championship for N.C. State in either football or basketball. Yesterday, State was a win away from playing for just such a thing in football, and then promptly defecated in its bunk. It was a Double Dragon punch to the crotch.

I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that we lost to Maryland, where Crecente went to college, or that IGN’s Nate Ahearn, whose Florida State will play in the title game instead, tweeted some trash talk afterwards.
There’s always basketball season, which will inevitably be a disappointment.
