I think there's an article to be written about how Nazi-killing FPS games have had a particularly strong impact on WWII films. One recent example: MachineGames, the developer for the latest Wolfenstein game, has credited the Tarantino film Inglorious Bastards as a big source of inspiration for The New Order. I find this funny on one level because I can't imagine movies like Inglorious Bastards or Defiance being made in the first place if Wolfenstein hadn't already offered up such a provocative revenge fantasy years earlier.
