As Tron: Legacy cools off at movie theaters, the sci-fi franchise is starting to heat up for an animated version.
Called Tron: Uprising, the show will be written by Tron: Legacy scribes Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis and will feature the vocal talents of Bruce Boxleitner, Mandy Moore, Lance Henriksen and Elijah Wood as the lead character Beck.
The show is set between the first Tron film and Tron: Legacy.
"Over the years of developing this movie [Tron: Legacy], we developed all these mythologies and all these back stories and all little tangential things [we want to tell in the series]," says Horowitz. "So we hope it adds to the depth of the movie."
Tron: Uprising will air on Disney XD starting next year.
