Track: Folsom Prison Blues | Artist: Johnny Cash | Album: The Best Of The Johnny Cash TV Show
Johnny Cash is now special to me. It’s a personal tale so please feel free to skip.
I was in hospital last year for some emergency surgeries. I hate hospitals, had never had a surgery before, had never been admitted to hospital before.
I found myself on a ward with a gaping gut wound, beeping noises, patients choking, screaming, pulling out their drips and shitting themselves. I wasn’t exactly gonna sleep. I only managed to get twenty minute chunks of sleep because I put some music on.
I didn’t want something bad, but I didn’t want something I knew so well that it would draw my attention from trying to sleep. So I played Johnny Cash’s entire Google Play library. The whole experience ruined my life, but in his songs I found an Ace that I could keep.
Yeah I know he didn't originally record that, but I had to end my paragraph somehow.
