UFC 2009 Undisputed has done great things for THQ's bottom line, with 2.9 million copies sold making for a profitable quarter. Logically, the publisher plans to expand its MMA offerings to platforms that aren't the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

THQ spoke of its plans to bring the UFC license to the Wii and unspecified "handhelds" in the future. While the latter could be safely assumed to include the Nintendo DS, PSP and possibly the iPhone, the publisher did not specify its intentions. Guess we'll find out when UFC 2010 Undisputed—or whatever they'll call it—ships next year.

On the subject of consoles that THQ's UFC 2009 Undisputed did launch on, THQ execs said they're expecting "a price cut would be in order by at least 2 of the 3 manufacturers" of video game consoles. CEO Brian Farrell made those comments after pointing out the Wii's current asking price, the same as its launch price, and the "relatively high price point" of the PS3.

When pressed on whether THQ was expecting a $50 or $100 price cut on Sony's current-gen PS3, Farrell offered that "Something on the higher end wouldn't surprise us."
