We’re getting a new Gundam game and it’s not far away. Revealed at the Summer Game Fest showcase, Gundam Rogue Orbit is the latest adaptation of the hit anime from Bandai Namco and it’s coming out in 2027. The trailer was so neat I almost confused it for a new Armored Core game. Hopefully we’ll get one of those too.

For now, here’s our first look at Orbit:

The game is headed to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, though we don’t yet know if it’s primarily a single-player adventure or an online game like some of the other recent Gundam entries. The brief synopsis we have so far definitely signals that it will be more of a cinematic, story-driven game than something like Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2.

“Change humanity’s fate in Gundam Rogue Orbit, a high-mobility action game that delivers a bold new take on Gundam, blending a fast-paced cinematic story with intense, hard-hitting combat in an all-new universe,” reads the description on Bandai Namco’s website.

Whatever it ends up being, hopefully it lets fans customize our mechs to our hearts’ content. The game is coming out ahead of a new live-action Gundam movie from Netflix that will start Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo as rival mech pilots. There’s no release date for that yet.
