The infamous Hello Kitty vibrator has become bad product branding lore. It was a very real product, but it was sold as a massage aid and not as a sex aid.
This is being sold as a Gachapin vibrator. That's what Amazon Japan is calling it! That's what pretty much everyone is calling it, instead of a vague "massage wand" or whatever.
In Japan, Gachapin is every bit as iconic as Hello Kitty. The green dinosaur appeared on a popular children's program, and he's equivalent to the American character, Barney. Westerners probably know Gachapin best from The Killer's "Read My Mind" video or from the DSFARGEG meme. Fans of that meme, fret not, Mukku also gets a mini vibe.
Unlike the Kitty vibrator, the Gachapin vibe isn't pussy footing around with what it's used for. Online Japanese retailers who sell vibes are proudly noting that this is an officially licensed product. Apparently, NHK Kids signed off on this—or at least on the contract that made this pocket vibe possible.
Since it's a mini vibrator, online sex toy retailers are saying it's perfect for relax time at home or, ahem, at the office.
But surely, if you pull this out in the bedroom, you will get banned, right? That's how the meme goes...
