Think You Have What It Takes To Defuse A Bomb?

Pop quiz hot shot, you're strapped into an Oculus Rift, staring at a bomb, and you don't know how to defuse it. What do you do? What do you do? The answer of course, is get a your friends to help with a list of absurd instructions.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a game originally made for the 2014 Global Game Jam, where teams around the world have 48 hours to dream up and create a game based on a theme. 2014's theme was "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are".

The idea of the game is fairly simple. One player (using the Oculus Rift) is looking at a bomb that needs to be defused. They have to describe the bomb to the rest of the team, who are faced with a massive list of instructions for defusing a whole variety of bombs. Working together, they need to figure out which type of bomb they're working with to find the correct process for defusing it.

Originally the game used the Razer Hydra for motion controls, but since that's been discontinued, you can now play it with an xbox 360 controller. The team is still working on the game, but they have no specific plans for a release date yet.

You can keep up to date with the game by signing up for the mailing list on the game's site or following them on twitter.

Watchlist is where we show off gameplay of new and upcoming games. You'll see some videos that aren't on the front page of Kotaku, and hopefully some games you haven't seen before!
