Resident Evil: Afterlife has had the biggest opening of any of the RE films. Know what that means? They're going to do another one. Oh, yes. They are.

Milla Jovovich, star of Resident Evil: Afterlife, told New York Magazine, "This new Resident Evil is the first one to ever open at No. 1 worldwide. It's the biggest movie in the franchise. So we're definitely going to make another one."

According to the actress, her director and husband Paul W.S. Anderson is already working on ideas for the fifth Resident Evil film.

"We've been talking to a lot of fans on Twitter and stuff, so it's probably going to be one of the first movies where we really talk to fans to see what they want, and what characters they want to see. It's going to be a more interactive process."

So perhaps the fifth time's a charm? Maybe? No?

DISCUSSION tickets!? The newest one has about as much in common with Resident Evil as a jar full of toenail clippings.

Let me tell you what this series is like to me. The Resident Evil movies are like DC Comics saying "we're going to make a movie about Batman, okay guys?", then a year later it turns out they fired the original writer and director - who actually respected the source material - and started an entirely new project, STILL called "Batman". Only in this movie, Batman appears for exactly 5 minutes before being killed off unceremoniously, and the rest of the movie stars some random guy they got off the street with no acting talent. And then it turns out he's sleeping with one of the producers. And he has awesome superpowers with no basis in the actual franchise. Oh, and he's Milla Jovovich.

Then they go on to make four more of them.
