There's Small, Then There's This

Anime character Kyubey is an extraterrestrial being in the popular Puella Magi Madoka Magica that when killed, reappears and eats the dead remains. If you think that's impressive, check out this Kyubey sculpture.

Someone with far more patience than me sculpted a Kyubey that can fit inside a five yen coin; for Americans, a five yen coin is about the size of a nickel. Five yen coins are 22mm across, and the center hole has a 5mm diameter.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica debuted this past January, and finished its first 12 episode run last month. Computer game maker Nitroplus is doing a Puella Magi Madoka Magica novelization. Sit tight for the inevitable game spin-off.

Since there'll be lots of Madoka fans getting here, I have a question.

Why did they translate it to Puella Magi Madoka Magica when the original title is Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica? I always wondered. Should be Magical Girl Madoka Magica, shouldn't it?

Great anime anyways... probably the most unique one on 2011.
