It’s been almost 25 years since the original Xbox came out and Microsoft is celebrating in part with a new limited-edition Xbox Series X that is translucent green and looks amazing. Thankfully for my wallet, the company is hiding the price tag at the moment.

Revealed during the 2026 Xbox summer showcase on Sunday, the “XBOX” Series X25 Limited Edition console comes with a 1TB SSD encased in beautiful green see-thru plastic. That’s essentially all the info we have about it but we did get this nostalgia-bomb of an ad to go with it:

The console will also come out alongside a translucent OG Green Xbox Series X/S controller with an Xbox insignia that lights up green and elements like the bumpers that call back to the original “Duke” gamepad for Microsoft’s first console. That will be sold separately when both limited-edition devices launch sometime ahead of the holiday season in November.

How much will all of this cost? Microsoft isn’t saying yet. “We’ll have more to share on pricing and preorder availability at select retailers soon,” the company wrote in a blog post. Thanks, generative AI!

The 1TB Xbox Series X currently retails for $650. Hopefully, the limited edition 25-year anniversary model is still below $700 by the time it comes out.
