As you can see below, as the industry got bigger, and more platforms were released catering to more customers, the number of titles put out each year grew exponentially.
Look where the numbers are during the last decade and you'll see why the article was written in the first place, decrying the death of the video game "expert". I'm not so sure I agree, but I sure like looking at the graph, which makes me feel so overwhelmed I get dizzy. Not so dizzy it makes me sick, just dizzy enough for it to be fun.
