You sound about as excited as I do to enter “The Year We Make Contact” with Jupiter-sized space fetuses. I remember seeing 2010 in the theater back in 1984, a theater going experience that induced a very strange panic attack in me as a kid. It may have had something to do with the claustrophobic feeling of being trapped in a spacesuit, But I may have had lingering trauma from the face-ripping scene in Poltergeist, worried that I’d be blindsided by another gory cinematic experience.
I haven’t seen 2010 since.
And speaking of nostalgia, I was thinking a lot about the identity of “Surfer Girl” from the blog Surfer Girl Reviews Star Wars yesterday. Kind of strange to put names to faces and spin-off blogs to Tumblr and Twitter accounts.
