The Weekend In Esports: Capcom Cup

2017 continues to wind down but not before some of the year’s biggest tournaments play out in full. This weekend features the annual culmination of endless Street Fighter tournaments with Capcom Cup 2017 as well as lots of action in the world of competitive Call of Duty and Counter-Strike.

Below you’ll find where and when you can catch all the weekend’s biggest events in competitive gaming. Let us know what you’ll be watching in the comments or if you think there’s something we might have missed.

Street Fighter V

The Capcom Cup is playing out this weekend in California at PlayStation Experience. The $370,000+ tournament features the likes of Punk, Tokido, Yukadon, and others and kicked off with last-change qualifiers yesterday. Matches resume today at at 2:00PM EST with top 32 and go until midnight. Then on Sunday top 8 begins at 5:00PM.

Call of Duty: WW2

The next season of the Call of Duty World League got started yesterday with the Dallas Open. After proceedings shut down early on the opening night due to bomb threats, matches have resumed today beginning at 11:00AM EST. Matches start on Sunday at the same time with the grand finals wrapping up later in the day.

Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite

Grand finals for the cross-over fighter’s Battle for the Stones series comes to a head today at PlayStation Experience as well. The action kicks off today at 5:00PM EST with everything streaming live here.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

ESL Pro League Season 6: Finals are underway with the first semifinal currently playing out and the second scheduled for 2:00PM EST. Grand finals for the $750,000 prize pool tournament, meanwhile, are scheduled for 10:00AM EST on Sunday.

Overwatch

Blizzard’s highly anticipated Ovewatch World League doesn’t officially start until 2018. As a test run though, fans have gotten their first taste of what the new competitive league will be like with a slew of preseason matches this week. Those continue today with Los Angelese Valiant vs. Los Angeles Gladiators at 2:00PM, Florida Mayhem vs. Dallas Fuel at 4:00PM, and finally Seoul Dynasty vs. New York Excelsior at 6:00PM.

League of Legends

2017's All-Star matches are here and the weekend’s start tonight at 6:15PM EST with LMS All-Stars vs. Southeast Asia All-Stars. Grand finals are scheduled for Sunday at 9:00PM. You can watch all of them here.

Heroes of the Storm

The $300,000 Gold Cup Championship concludes tomorrow for Blizzard’s moba. Today’s matches played out early in the morning with Sunday’s set to do the same. The losers’ bracket final is set for 5:30AM EST followed by the grand finals at 10:00AM.

Smash Bros.

Smash 4 Boot Camp is going on this weekend in Vegas. Matches get going today at 1:00PM EST with doubles and go late into the night. The losers’ bracket then wraps up on Sunday at 7:00PM with the grand finals to follow shortly after.
