The two Iowa men arrested yesterday at the Pokémon World Championships in Boston for unlawful possession of guns have been held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on September 1, the District Attorney said today. The hearing will determine whether they can get out on bail while they await their charges.
They made threats on social media to shoot up a card game tournament, with the police recovering an assault rifle, shotgun, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, knives, and more. And yet they need a “dangerousness hearing” to determine if it’s reasonable to hold these two adults without bail.
Am I the only one who thinks this hearing is both completely unnecessary and borderline farcical?
