After last week’s Walmart debacle, a whole lot of Nintendo fans have been asking when the hell they’ll be able to pre-order the much-anticipated SNES Classic, which launches on September 29. Today, Nintendo finally offered an answer: later this month.

Here’s Nintendo:

We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month.

A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.

Good luck getting your hands on one of these $80 retro systems, which will come with 20 classic games and the previously unreleased Star Fox 2. Hopefully Nintendo really did make more than ten of them.

Since it will be damn near impossible to get one, I hope they offer some kind of “SNES Classic” Package to purchase on the Switch, where you can at the very least, buy all the games at ones, less the price of the hardware, and maybe some SNES themed Joy Con, or at the very least, make Star Fox 2 available through some other channels.

At least the scalper profits from these things will go towards funding the next generation of billionaires.
