Ryan “Northernlion” Letourneau, the Twitch streamer and Slay the Spire 2 aficionado who is personally responsible for keeping Peloton in business, has just announced the Northernlion Supercruise: a six-day-long “ultimate streamer cruise” that will set you back, at minimum, $1,800.
The event was announced on April 13 during Northernlion’s most recent stream on Twitch, although news of said announcement was slow to reach other corners of the internet. This is likely because, even though Northernlion stated several times that it was “not a bit,” his fans on r/northernlion are still not entirely sure if it’s actually real. “Genuinely cannot believe this is something Ryan would ever consider,” commented one user. “This sounds like his own personal hell.”
Alongside the Northernlion Supercruise website itself, the thing that convinced me that it’s real was the guest appearance of Dan Gheesling during the stream. I’ve watched enough Northernlion streams in my time to know that the two are close friends, but those unfamiliar with Gheesling’s Twitch career might know him better as the winner of season 10 of Big Brother in 2008 and as a runner-up on the second season of The Traitors.
According to Gheesling, the event was partially organized by his mother, who has “owned a travel agency for 50 years.” Several other Twitch streamers are set to make appearances during the cruise alongside both Northernlion and Gheesling, including Squeex, Lovelymomo, and two as-of-yet unannounced guest stars.
The cruise will set out from Tampa, Florida on March 8, 2027, making stops at Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico before returning to Tampa on March 13. It will feature events such as a meet-and-greet cocktail party, “interactive question and answer sessions” with the streamers, live gaming entertainment, and even an opportunity to “play with the pros” for two lucky guests. There are also three available booking options for the cruise: a solo “gamer” cabin (which costs $1,800), a “duo queue” cabin ($2,049), and a premium “squad up” cabin ($2,159).
you are not going to meet your future wife at the club. you will not meet her at your job, or school, or a cafe, or at church. you are going to meet her on the Northernlion Supercruise

Reactions outside of Northernlion’s fanbase have been mixed, which is understandable considering how Twitch events tend to fare. After all, if TwitchCon 2025 was such an unmitigated disaster, it’s easy to see how trapping a small group of streamers on a boat with a bunch of fans for six days could turn out poorly. It does sound like it has the capacity to end up as a mix between Fyre Festival and Lord of the Flies.
Still, and this is coming from a longtime Northernlion viewer, I am struggling to wrap my head around this being real. I know the man loves cruises, but come on. To that end, Kotaku has reached out to Northernlion Supercruises just to double-check that this isn’t the most elaborate joke of all time. It was either that or actually attempting to book one of the solo “gamer” cabins, and I’m not sure Kotaku would approve of me expensing that to the company card under the guise of “research.”
