The Second Need For Speed Released After Gran Turismo 5 Will Be…

How long will November’s Gran Turismo 5 be the newest realistic racing game you can play? Possibly not past March, as EA has revealed that Need for Speed Shift 2 will be out on console and PC in early 2011.

Need for Speed: Shift 2 will be released between New Year’s Day and March 31, 2011 according to a press release issued by EA today. The release focused on EA’s financial performance and listed no details for the game other than its name, release window and platforms: console and PC.

The game will be EA’s second post-GT5 Need for Speed. Just a couple of weeks after the release of Gran Turismo 5 on the PlayStation 3, EA will release the console and PC cops vs. robber Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, made by company studio Criterion. That game is more of an arcade smash-up; the first Shift was offered as a more realistic simulation-style experience.
