The Nintendo Download: Super Star Wars Isn't Everything

Illustration for article titled The Nintendo Download: Super Star Wars Isn't Everything

Sure, Crecente already mentioned Super Star Wars for the Virtual Console, but that doesn't mean there aren't any other exciting downloadable Nintendo titles hitting this week! Or does it?

Super Star Wars (800 Wii points) might be an intimidating presence on the Virtual Console, but brand new games will always triumph over the forces of amazing old ones. Look at this week's WiiWare offerings! Rock N' Roll Climber (800 points), the game that simulates rock climbing using the Wii Balance Board, was so exciting that it was featured in Nintendo's 2009 Game Developers Conference keynote speech! Sure, I had completely forgotten about it and wouldn't have mentioned that fact if Totilo hadn't pointed it out to me, but still - exciting!

Also on WiiWare this week is NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits (1000 points), Over the Top Games' angelic adventure about a girl searching the desert of her lost friend Icarus. Use godly powers to help Nyx surpass enemies and obstacles, or let a friend take on the role of the gods, activating powers while you fly about. It actually sounds rather interesting! Not Super Star Wars interesting, but still.

No worries, the DSiWare service will save us. Let's see...Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters (800 DSiWare points).

You know... I'm really getting kind of tired of waiting for something truly worthwhile to be released for DSiWare.

I hear about this and I'm thinking classic games available for download, but all I've seen are gimmicky titles and maybe one or two gems. Not to mention that the releases are few and far between.

For shame, Nintendo. For shame.
