The Most Intense Battle Of EVO 2014 So Far

With a $35,000 on the line — the largest pot of EVO 2014 — Keiji "Garireo" Okamoto and Ryo "Dogura" Nozaki put up the fight of their lives in the BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma grand finals.

By the end of the match between Gariero's Litchi and Dogura's Azrael the audience was going crazy, the announcers had tears in their eyes, and I mysteriously stubbed my toe, causing spontaneous facial leakage.

Before we watch that final round, however, a moment of silence for Yoshiki and DoraBang, the two best-dressed competitors at the tournament.

Yoshiki (or Yoshiko, depending on who you ask) and DoraBang were eliminated in the finals despite their stunning outfits, paving the way for the grand battle between Loser's Bracket winner Garireo and Winner's Bracket champ Dogura.

In order for the Loser's Bracket competitor to win a championship, they have to defeat the Winner's Bracket competitor in two best-of-five rounds. Garireo and Dogura battled for ten rounds before one of them came out on top. All of those numbers add up to one exciting round, and a very emotional victory.

I don't know if EVO can get any more exciting than this. All we can do is watch and wait.

1) Why is $35k the largest pot? That's an insultingly weak prize. LoL and friends regularly have over 10x that, as in many times every year.

2) Why is the biggest pot for the one game that's so unimportant that I needed EVO to reveal its existence to me?
