From the company behind Assassin's Creed and the Tom Clancy series comes Dance On Broadway, a new Wii title that lets you perform 20 classic showtunes in the safety and privacy of your home. Embarrassing costumes are optional.
We've had singing games, and we've had dancing games. We've even had singing and dancing games, but nothing that's matched the all-singing, all-dancing majesty of the top Broadway plays of the past 30 years. Oh sure, there's that Grease game, but why limit yourself to one show?
Ubisoft's Dance on Broadway allows you and up to three friends to live out your Broadway dreams using the Nintendo Wii. Using only the Wii remote as your guide, you'll worked through choreographed routines for some of Broadway's top tunes, from The Sound of Music's "My Favorite Things" to "Luck Be a Lady" from Guys and Dolls.
Other songs in the game include:
All That Jazz
Aquarius
Bend and Snap
One Night Only
Dreamgirls
Time Warp
Fame
We're in the Money
Let The Sunshine In
You Can't Stop the Beat
Little Shop of Horrors Theme
Normally I'd be expected to make fun of the game at this point, perhaps making an off-color joke about showtunes. Thing is, I can't really joke about the content, as I'm a big theater buff, and know most of these songs by heart.
Instead, I will simply point out that no matter how embarrassing it is to watch the models in the promotional video playing the game, you will likely look ten times worse than that. We expect YouTube videos.
Dance on Broadway will hit stores on June 15, leaving you very little time to preorder.
