The Greatest Music Game Never Made?

The music game boom is done and dusted (r.i.p.), but don't tell Grant Woolard. In his head bangin' head, it still lives on. And it's totally awesome.

Grant, who lives in Japan, is studying the shamisen, a traditional instrument similar to a banjo. To showcase his first composition, he created this truly wonderful video for an imaginary game called Shamisen Hero.

While I'm sick of Guitar Hero, I'd buy Shamisen Hero in a heartbeat. Ditto for the long overdue Koto Hero.

The music genre is definitely not dead. It still has a very strong and dedicated fan base. Guitar Hero is only on the same break the Tony Hawk series was on, so I wouldn't be surprised to see GH7 coming sooner than later...and there will be a Rock Band 4 this year as well, according to Harmonix who stated the series was once again only skipping a release last year to get a nice overhaul..supposedly to the point where the new one might look nothing like the last 3 have. Personally I'm excited for both of them to come back, it was kinda shitty when GH:WoR was so good, and THAT's when they decided to stop the yearly releases.
