From cinematic attacks tearing across the sky to the appearance of a certain blue cat dressed in a red onesie, so far Injustice 2 has everything a fan of the first game could want, as long as they are me.
The first gameplay trailer for the sequel to NetherRealm Studios’ hit comic book fighter showcases several new characters joining the brawl in 2017, including Red Lantern Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd and Black Manta. We get to see Supergirl taking the bus, Aquaman go fishing and Superman having a game of catch with Batman.
We also get a look at some of the costume upgrades players will be able to acquire as they play, hopefully through skill and perseverance.
That’s all very exciting, but pay special attention to the space above the Red Lantern’s shoulder in the opening scene.

We’ll see more of at E3 next week, where hopefully someone will ask if Dex-Starr is playable or if he’s just too powerful.
