The Desert Bus Departs For Charity Tomorrow

It's that time of year again, when a group of charitable gamers sit behind the wheel of the infamous Desert Bus and drive endlessly, tirelessly, maybe even masochistically, at a maximum speed of 45mph for nearly a full week

For the fourth year in a row, the world's most boring game will be played marathon style in the name of good. Only this year, each participant will be driving the Desert Bus for longer than four hour shifts. Each is putting in a full 24 hours in a row.

The gang at LoadingReadyRun will once again fire up the Desert Bus mini-game from Penn & Teller's Smoke and Mirrors, enduring dusty, dreary eight hour slogs from Tuscon to Las Vegas in the name of raising money for Child's Play. Last year, the LRR gang drove the slightly misaligned bus for more than five days straight, back and forth and back and forth, raising more than $140,000 USD in the process.

This year, you can watch the Desert Bus For Hope charity marathon online to see if they shatter that record. You know, a little money from you wouldn't hurt their chances.
