Welcome to the Best of Kotaku, where I round up all of this week's best content.
This week's best image is a mashup of Adventure Time with Yoshi's Island, by Classy Raptor. I particularly like it because I can totally see Jake molding himself into Yoshi to take Finn on adventures. Classy Raptor indeed.
Moving on to our Best Of content this week, we kick things off as usual with a comment from the community.
The Best Comment From The Community
Our favorite comment of this week comes to you from -Silver- in response to Evan's investigation into who stole Halo 4:
"There are several reasons but the top reason obviously is still people are just short on money and think "Hey, these developers make millions of dollars and they really dont need my 60 bucks". I have mixed feelings about this. I say its true on the big hitters like EA, Activision and Microsoft for example. If you look at the Call of Duty sales breaking every record in existance, while just copy and pasting the previous games (I'm not hating but if your honest to yourself you know its true), i have absolutely no shame in downloading it."
Rrrrrrr, this makes me so angry! How the hell does that entitle you to a free copy of anything? I'm glad these developers are turning a profit on their games! Hundreds of people sink two to three years of their lives into making them! But how the hell anyone can translate that as "therefore, I deserve a copy for free" is beyond me.
You don't deserve a copy for free. It may not be a lost sale to the devs, but you sure as fuck are not entitled to a free copy just because you can't afford to pay the full price. Wait a few months for a price cut, or buy it second hand if you have to. But don't steal a copy. Because that's exactly what it is, even without lost sales - stealing. And it's pathetic.
