Hollywood's getting closer(now with 20% more asian for the asian characters!), but still missing what makes a damn world-traveling video game adaptation good: TRAVELING THE DAMN WORLD.
I'd gladly excuse the awful acting and cobbled plot if Tekken weren't "Cage fighter set in Chinatown". There's no excuse. Street Fighter: The Animated Movie did that. So even though the plot was rather bland, the action was good and the locations were varied.
Half of the beauty of classic fighting games was kicking the shit out of someone else. The other beauty was seeing places like Ayutthaya, King George Island, and the massive temple of Angkor Wat recreated in great detail.
