Talk Amongst Yourselves

Illustration for article titled Talk Amongst Yourselves

Greetings fellow gamers, and happy Friday! There's much to be played, so I hope this weekend will allow you to take a chunk out of your favorite new games. I'm going to be heavily invested in Skyrim, I hope, and I'm sure many of you will be as well.

MLG Providence is this weekend, for those of you interested in such things, as well as a return to league football (soccer) from the international break—go Chelsea! Add gaming to that, plus interacting with the other human beings you call "friends" and "loved ones" should make for a busy weekend! So please, take this time to talk amongst yourselves.

Were the best Mario Party games 1/2 or is it just me? No gimmick controls, just an analog stick and platforming goodness/bullshit. people got angry in those games; spiteful and violent. N64 controlls can handle a lot of punishment.

Contrary to this, I broke my novelty stylus one christmas after getting Mario Party DS and it randomly gave our opponent a star for shit and giggles.

"This is a fair and skill based game!" we'd lie to ourselves, screaming it and writhing in our mental anguish, after the comp player that we'd soundly beaten at everything would randomly swap stars or coins with us, adding "ARRRGGGHHH!".

MP1 and 2 felt more like you lived and died by the minigames. I liked that. Skill allowed you to prevail, or atleast get second and get a runner up prize for sucking less than the other two.
