My, how things change. Last we heard about the Resident Evil 5 comic series, it would be revealing Chris Redfield’s “dark burden”. Now? It’s got nothing to do with Redfield. Or any other RE characters.

Instead, this prequel to the events of the latest Resident Evil game introduces two new characters (both BSAA agents), in a storyline that goes from space to South America. In between, it drops the “5” from the title, and will now be known as simply “Resident Evil”.
There are six issues planned. The series has been written by Rick Sanchez, with art by Kevin Sharpe and Jim Clark. Issue #1 is due on April 8, with a sneak preview below (and you can read our own impressions of it here).
