Streets of Red is a retro beat ‘em up headed to PS4 and Switch on February 27. There are a lot of side-scrolling brawlers that aim to capture the original arcade experience, but Streets of Red really commits by not allowing you any continues or saves. When you die, it’s game over and you have to start all over.

There’s a great article over at Eurogamer about the development of Dendy, Russia’s knockoff version of the NES. It also goes into how the console helped develop a market for gaming in the former Soviet Union and paved the way for Nintendo to begin selling its original hardware.

Narita Boy just released its first gameplay trailer. The 80s cyberpunk beat’em up is infused with nostalgia for old tech and according to this latest footage at least, pretty violent. We spoke with the developer when the project was Kickstarted earlier this year, which originally aimed for a release in late 2018.
