Given how many games release on Switch every week, it’s sometimes difficult to find the best games on the eShop. Here’s some great Switch games you may not have tried.
In 2017, I played a lot of games, but only 10 could make the cut for this blog. Culling the herd to just 10 was heartbreaking and required intense soul-searching. In no particular order, the best games I played in 2017:
When Victoria Rosenthal started replicating dishes from eat-what-you-kill game Battle Chef Brigade, she had a little difficulty finding dragon meat at the grocery store. To cook up the game’s BBQ Dragon Shank, she had to get creative.
Battle Chef Brigade asks: What if you had to kill a Hydra before competing in Iron Chef? It’s a winning premise, and one that scaffolds the many-headed cooking game’s endless charms.
Battle Chef Brigade hits Switch and PC on November 20. Like Iron Chef if it were animated by Studio Ghibli, the it’s a match-three game where you flavor profiles (i.e. colors) to cook the perfect dish. But there’s also a side-scrolling action part where you collect your ingredients. It’s pretty wild looking.
Last night, while a meatloaf roasted in my oven and I moved some kale around a pan, it suddenly dawned on me that nothing in my life more resembles a video game than cooking.
