Sounds like peripheral company Performance Designed Products (PDP) is in trouble, and that in turn is affecting its sponsorship of fighting game outfit Team AfterGlowElite (Team AGE).

We contacted PDP after hearing reports that the company had instituted "mass layoffs", which in turn had meant the disbandment of the successful Team AGE only days after the Evo championships.

While declining to enter into specifics, PDP did issue the following statement to Kotaku.

Performance Designed Products (PDP), has restructured several departments to maximize its product strategy. Unfortunately, because of this, the company had to consolidate several departments during restructuring, including changes forthcoming to Team AGE. We are grateful to those impacted and wish them well in the future.
