Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Europe (SCEWSE?) exec Michael Denny is not thrilled with episodic content. He wants it to be more exciting, you know, more cliffhangery.
For me, true episodic gaming needs to be more than just selling a traditional game split into chunks. It needs to be games that are specifically designed from the outset to be very story driven, to be very cliffhanger-orientated. Almost to follow some of the ideas based on some of the best TV series' like Lost or Heroes.
And if Denny and Sony can figure out how to do that on a regular and constant basis, we'd say they'd have a big, episodic hit on their hands.
