There are few games in recent memory that are as visually impacting as El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron. The new adventure, out on August 16 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, has a distinctly dreamy anime aesthetic that transports players into another world—a world where angels are fighting to live more like men, men are fighting to be more divine, and the whole world is trapped amidst a holy battle.

Ezekiel
An angel motivated by love and the deep longing for a family, Ezekial's intense devotion can some times become frightening in its resoluteness. Her two familiars are a pair of enourmous, shape-shifting pigs named Foola and Woola, who are often the targets of Ezekiel's half-crazed devotion.

Sariel
Charmed by the romantic love humans develop for one another, Sariel descended to earth to get closer to those who have the capacity to experience this very mortal instinct. He is standing up to God—and to Enoch—not to betray the Almighty, but to protect the paradise he's created on earth.

Beings created from the union of fallen angels and humans, the Nephilim wander the earth as lonely, solitary creature. Their very existence is all that God hates, as he expressly forbade the angels from interfering with earthly events.
