Say Goodbye to Speak Up on Kotaku with the Best Final Fantasy Sequel Ever

That's right, it's the end of Speak Up on Kotaku as we know it, at least as a daily feature. For years I've (Fahey) been going though the Speak Up and then TAY user forums, scouring them for gems to share with the class, like commenter CannibalTuna stepping up to admit that Final Fantasy X-2 was a pretty good game. We'll still be scouring the comments for items that deserve posting. It just won't be a daily thing any more.

Am I the only one that really enjoyed Final Fantasy X-2? For years my friends told me not to play it because it wasn't as good as 10 so I never got around to it but last month I decided to try it out and emulate my copy on my pc. I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the upbeat attitude throughout the game. I really liked the ATB/job system and the changing of clothes. It was very open even from the beginning, even to the point where I was lost at times.

It gets a lot of hate from people but I just can't see it. I guess I'm just too easy going on FF. I loved 9, 10, 10-2, 12, 13, 13-2, and 14, and about to start 6 on my Vita. What do you guys think?

Thanks, everyone, for an awesome run! Speak Up on Kotaku was about you guys, right there, reading stuff.

I'm not a fan of the story, or the soundtrack, but I've always maintained that X-2 had the very best combat system in all Final Fantasy games. It really made you feel like all that experience you had been garnishing through countless other RPGs was finally being put to the test.

Hell, it's the best combat system of any RPG, hands down.
